Legendary Landscapes In Northern Ireland 27th April—3rd May

The spectacular scenery on this tour will take your breath away, starting with a train journey from Coleraine to Derry described by Michael Palin as ‘one of the most beautiful in the world’. The track runs alongside unspoilt beaches on one side & the cliffs of Downhill & The Binevenagh Mountain on the other.
In Derry we will have a 2 hour part step-on guide & walking tour, ‘unlocking the walled city’, hearing about it’s 400 years of history. We finish the day with a civic tour & ’Meet The Mayor’ prosecco drinks reception in The Guildhall.
The sublime views continue with a scenic Causeway Coastal Route drive and a visit to the stunning Giant’s Causeway. We will stop in the picturesque seaside town of Portrush before visiting the Old Bushmills Distillery, the oldest working distillery in County Antrim, where we will enjoy a guided tour and tasting.
On our last day we will visit the world-famous Belfast Titanic, which tells the story through interactive galleries. The attraction has undergone a multi-million pound transformation in 2023 so we experience the newly introduced theme ‘The Pursuit of Dreams’. We spend the rest of the day at leisure in Belfast, so you can explore some of the city’s most famous and historic sites.

Celebrate VE Day In Weymouth 6th—10th May

Celebrate with us in the ever popular resort of Weymouth on the beautiful Jurassic coast, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Our hotel is right opposite the sandy beach and just a 10 minute walk along the promenade to the town centre, with it’s high street, gift shops and cafes. Step back in time to celebrate this mem-orable occasion and enjoy this classic resort , which never fails to deliver.
During our stay we will visit Abbotsbury Swannery, the world’s only managed colony of nesting mute swans. We have included a visit to the Abbotsbury Gardens, with it’s world famous Camellia groves, magnolia walk and rhododendrons. In the afternoon we will stop In Dorchester, with time to explore it’s shops and museums.
On the 80th Anniversary of VE Day, 8th May, we will have a free day to relax and celebrate in Weymouth. Take a stroll along the esplanade to the old harbour area and visit Brewer’s Quay, which is full of arts, crafts and antique shops. Enjoy an ice cream on the front and just watch the world go by.
Finally, we visit the traditional seaside resort of Swanage with it’s Victorian pier. We spend time here before embarking on a 6 mile scenic journey on the award winning Swanage Steam Railway, through picturesque Purbeck to idyllic Corfe Castle Village. We spend time here before returning by train to Swanage.

Island Hopping On Bute & Skye 3rd June - 11th June

Two islands that famously encapsulate the best of the Scottish landscape are Bute & Skye, and our stunning tour features stays on both.
After an overnight in Carlisle, we travel from Wemyss Bay by ferry to Rothesay, arriving at our country house hotel in time for dinner. We will visit the neo-gothic Mount Stuart House & Gardens, set in 300 acres of landscaped gardens, woodland & coast. We then enjoy a scenic tour of the beautiful island of Bute.
Today we take a short ferry ride back to the mainland and travel along the shores of Loch Fyne before arriving at ‘the outdoor capital of the World,’ Fort William. We then head to Mallaig passing the iconic Glenfinnan Viaduct before catching the ferry to Armadale on Skye and making our way to the hotel.
The famous Dunvegan Castle & Gardens, the oldest continuously inhabited castle in Scotland, is our next attraction. We will then enjoy a scenic drive around Skye.
Before leaving the island we take a 1 hour cruise in a glass-bottomed boat with Seaprobe Atlantis. Back on the mainland we enjoy another cruise of Loch Ness in search of Nessie, before continuing our journey to Pitlochry and our next hotel.
Enjoy a relaxing free day in the picture-postcard town of Pitlochry with it’s many attractive shops, bars and tea-rooms before we begin our journey home.

Glorious Gardens Of North Devon 18th — 22nd June

We return to llfracombe which is transformed with the summer sunshine, and you can truly appreciate all the town and local attractions have to offer.
We begin our first day with a coffee stop in Barnstaple, before visiting the stunning Hartland Abbey & Gardens, the lived-in family home of the Stucley family. Built in the 12th Century, it contains collections of paintings, porcelain and furniture that have accumulated over many generations. The gardens were influenced by Gertrude Jekyll, a frequent visitor, and are a popular filming location.
With it’s charming harbour of quaint, pastel coloured houses, 14th century church, and Damien Hirst’s statue, Verity, standing guard at the harbour entrance, there is much to see on your free day in Ilfracombe. Enjoy the stunning beaches and coves, explore the famous tunnels, art and craft galleries and independent shops or relax at one of the maritime pubs.
Another favourite for garden lovers is RHS Rosemoor, and we will allow plenty of time here as there is so much to see. The Rose Garden will be at it’s peak and is a sight to behold, as well as the brightly coloured Hot Garden, The Foliage, Stone and Exotic Gardens. There are plenty of benches to stop, relax and enjoy the view. Why not enjoy a Devon cream tea in the café after browsing the plant shop.

Highlights of The Peak District 14th - 18th July

We begin by visiting Hardwick Hall, a spectacular Elizabethan country house built in the 1500s by ‘Bess of Hardwick’, and filled with rich furnishings and tapestries preserved by successive generations of the Devonshire family. We will have plenty of time to discover the stories of Hardwick and enjoy the beautiful landscape it is set within. We continue on to the market town of Chesterfield, dominated by it’s famous crooked spire, where we have time to explore the shops and cafes.
Today we travel to Chatsworth House where we will have a guided tour to explore the magnificent Painted Hall, State Rooms, Sketch Galleries and beautiful Sculpture Gallery, before enjoying the spectacular gardens. We finish with a stop in beautiful Bakewell, home of the famous pudding. Located on the river Wye, it is a painter’s paradise with it’s stone buildings, 5-arched stone bridge and quaint courtyards.
Finally we travel to the thermal spa town of Buxton, home of the famous water. We begin with the Buxton Crescent Experience, set within the stunning Grade 1 listed Crescent building which has just had a £70 million facelift, restoring it to it’s former glory. We will have a guided tour of the nine themed rooms, including the sunken oval pool where the 5000-year-old mineral water still rises from the ground, finishing off with a tasting. After some free time in Buxton for lunch, we finish our day with a drive through the nearby ‘hidden villages’ for a step-on guided tour.

The Beautiful South Coast 23rd - 27th July

The sunny Sussex South Coast has a lot to offer, and on this tour we visit serene Parham House to enjoy the gardens in full Summer glory, as well as returning to Arundel, with time to enjoy the glorious cathedral.
We begin with a coffee stop in Buckler’s Hard, an historic riverside village in the New Forest. As well as visiting the museum we have included a river cruise for you to enjoy before we continue on to our hotel.
Our first day out begins with a visit to Arundel, a charming market town boasting a stunning cathedral with French Gothic architecture, as well as quaint shops and cafes. Enjoy a coffee before we continue on to Brighton, always a popular choice, where you will have time for lunch and to wander the Lanes, visit The Royal Pavilion or enjoy the view from The Donut with it’s 360 degree birds-eye view.
Chichester is the only city in West Sussex, and as it’s so close we will fit in a visit, during our tour, as well as having a free day in Bognor Regis itself.
We finish with a visit to Worthing, with it’s award winning beaches, museum and art gallery. Enjoy a coffee before we continue on Parham House & Gardens, one of the country’s finest Elizabethan houses. Make Tracks For The Garden Of England 11th - 15th August

Kent has always been known as ‘The Garden Of England’ so on this tour we will truly discover why, with gardens galore as well as a steam train ride.
Our first day is spent in the beautiful city of Canterbury, famed for it’s medieval buildings, quaint tea shops and magnificent cathedral. Having been a place of worship for 1400 years, it is now one of the oldest and most famous Christian structures in England. You will have plenty of time to explore before we return to the hotel with a stop in Deal enroute.
Walmer Castle and Gardens is our next destination. Here we can learn about it’s fascinating history and former residents including The Duke of Wellington,
before exploring the eight acre gardens, featuring herbaceous borders in full summer glory. This afternoon we travel along the coast to Samphire Hoe nature reserve, where we have a welcome talk followed by a guided walk to appreciate the wildlife, rare plants and stunning views.
Our final day out begins with a steam train ride on The Kent & East Sussex Railway from Tenterden to Bodiam. Enjoy a drink as we admire the scenery. This afternoon is spent at Great Dixter House & Gardens. Having been the home of gardener and writer Christopher Lloyd, the arts & craft style gardens are particularly impressive.

What better place to be than Cornwall in the English Summertime, and on this tour we enjoy all that’s best about the area with a traditional Cornish cream tea.
We begin our tour with a stop at Dingles Fairground Museum, where you will have a chance to re-live your youth by enjoying a traditional fairground ride.
Our first day out is to The Lost Gardens of Heligan. The estate had been lost to the brambles of time since the outbreak of WW1, but this sleeping beauty was re-awakened in 1990 to become Europe’s largest restoration project. Today, Heligan’s 200 acres are a paradise for the explorer, wildlife, plant lover and gar-den romantic.
You will have a free day in Newquay, Cornwall’s premier holiday resort, boasting eleven magnificent sandy beaches. Although well known as Britain’s surfing capital, the town offers wonderful cliff and beach walks and a picturesque harbour to explore, as well as it’s cafes, bars and shops.
We finish our stay with a visit to Padstow, Cornwall’s seafood capital. Enjoy a crab sandwich on the harbour or take a walk along the glorious coastal path and admire the view across to Rock, before returning to Newquay, for a last walk along the seafront.

Colchester & Cruise In Essex & Suffolk 22nd - 26th September

Join us on our visit to the East coast where we will explore the region’s beautiful countryside and quaint villages, as well as enjoy lovely gardens, a river cruise and discover the fascinating history of Colchester.
Our first visit is to Beth Chatto’s gardens, once an overgrown wasteland and now an inspiration to all visitors. We continue on to the lovely seaside resort of Frinton-on-Sea, with it’s tree-lined avenues and elegant esplanade for some time at leisure.
Colchester was Britain’s first city and the former capital of Roman Britain, so we will have a full day to explore this fascinating city at leisure and see the many important and unique Roman sites and ruins. There are five museums and galleries within two minutes walk of each other, so spend the day discovering about it’s history from the Iron Age, through Roman and Norman times to the present day. As well as the Castle Museum, visit the only known Roman Circus in Britain and the winding streets of the Dutch Quarter.
Today we visit Lavenham, known as ‘England’s Finest Medieval Village’ due to it’s fine examples of timber framed Tudor buildings. We also stop in Flatford, home to the 16th century mill made famous in Constable’s paintings. We end in Waldringfield to board MV Jahan for a cruise on the River Deben, one of the most beautiful spots on the East coast. Enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit while you soak in the views.

The Holy Island of Lindisfarne & Alnwick 5th - 9th October

Our tour to Northumberland is based in the heart of the beautiful town of Alnwick at The White Swan Hotel, famed for it’s links with Titanic's sister ship, Olympic. The hotel is the ideal base for exploring the unspoilt hills, coastline and historic castles of Northumberland.
The Holy Island of Lindisfarne is one of the most important centres of early Christianity in Anglo-Saxon England. Connected to the mainland by a 3 mile causeway, it has stunning views of the Northumbrian coast. You will have time at leisure to visit the picturesque 16th century castle, now owned by the National Trust, the Priory and churches or just enjoy the peace and tranquillity. On our return we will pass Bamburgh castle and the stunning Northumberland coast.
We will also visit Seahouses, a quaint fishing village with glorious scenery, and enjoy a boat trip to the Farne Islands to see the stunning coastline and wildlife. These rocky islands are home to Atlantic seals and around 20,000 seabirds breed here, including 43,000 pairs of puffins.
On your free day in Alnwick we have included entry to the castle, used for filming in Downton Abbey and The Harry Potter films. It is a treasure trove of history and contains art by Titan, Candeletto and Van Dyck. There are the beautiful Alnwick Gardens as well as an abundance of local shops, cafes and museums in this lovely market town to enjoy. As our hotel is in the heart of the town, come back to relax and recharge before heading back out.

Snowdonia & Trains Of North Wales 15th—19th October

After the popularity of our last ‘Little Trains of North Wales's tour, we return this year, but with the aim of seeing the view from the top of Snowdon with the add-ed benefit of the beautiful Autumn colours.
We begin with a drive to Porthmadog for a ride on one of the most famous Welsh railways, The Blaenau Ffestiniog. Enjoy the 13mile journey with dramatic views of mountains, lakes and waterfalls as the train climbs to 700 feet above sea level. We then continue on to Conwy, one of the most complete medieval walled towns in Europe. Enjoy the views of the Conwy estuary from the castle walls or wander the narrow streets with it’s quirky shops and cafes.
Llandudno is Wales largest resort, uniquely situated between The Great & Little Ormes, and famed for it’s 2000ft Victorian pier. With a multitude of shops in the tree-lined streets, there is plenty for everyone to enjoy on your free day.
Finally we will enjoy a scenic drive down the Conwy Valley through the Snowdonia National Park, enjoying the stunning autumn colours. After stopping at the Llanberis Pass for a photo, we arrive in Llanberis for the highlight of our tour, a return journey to the top of Mount Snowdon. At 3,560ft and known as ’The rooftop of Wales’, it is only possible to journey to the summit from July until the winter snows. Weather permitting, we will have stunning views. We will have some time in the village of Llanberis before travelling back to our hotel.

Our traditional ‘Turkey & Tinsel’ tour this year is a return to The Seabank Hotel Porthcawl, where we visited previously and were impressed by the exceptional service and entertainment. We will include an enroute stop in Cardiff to visit the Christmas Market.
Our first excursion is to The Mumbles, a seaside village overlooking Bracelet Bay. Full of character and charm, it is home to handmade crafts, luxury boutiques and the famous Joe’s ice-cream.
