COST PER PERSON: £450 PER PERSON
Includes RHS Rosemoor Gardens
We return to llfracombe which is transformed with the summer sunshine, and you can truly appreciate all the town and local attractions have to offer.
We begin our first day with a coffee stop in Barnstaple, before visiting the stunning Hartland Abbey & Gardens, the lived-in family home of the Stucley family. Built in the 12th Century, it contains collections of paintings, porcelain and furniture that have accumulated over many generations. The gardens were influenced by Gertrude Jekyll, a frequent visitor, and are a popular filming location.
With it’s charming harbour of quaint, pastel coloured houses, 14th century church, and Damien Hirst’s statue, Verity, standing guard at the harbour entrance, there is much to see on your free day in Ilfracombe. Enjoy the stunning beaches and coves, explore the famous tunnels, art and craft galleries and independent shops or relax at one of the maritime pubs.
Another favourite for garden lovers is RHS Rosemoor, and we will allow plenty of time here as there is so much to see. The Rose Garden will be at it’s peak and is a sight to behold, as well as the brightly coloured Hot Garden, The Foliage, Stone and Exotic Gardens. There are plenty of benches to stop, relax and enjoy the view. Why not enjoy a Devon cream tea in the café after browsing the plant shop.
